On Friday night the presidential candidate Mauricio Rodas was kidnapped and robbed in Quito. He had taken a taxi from the airport to his home in the North of the capital, and upon arriving at his house two subjects boarded the car and forced the driver of the taxi to go to the south of the city.
Rodas was robbed of cell phones, a laptop, money and credit cards. On Saturday morning he made an official report to the authorities.
